“Say It To My Face” — Ahh, I’m Not Sure That Is The Right Response.

[Posted by WLS]

There is an interesting convergence of events happening today with respect to the manner in which the Ayers issue is being handled by the respective campaigns.

First, watch the two videos over at Jonathan Martin’s Politico blog, here and here. Down 5 points, it’s going be hard for the McCain camp to not follow the lead of his most ardent supporters who show up at the rallies.

Now there are reports that the RNC is readying a significant ad buy for spots highlighting Obama’s shady connections from Chicago politics. These spots go up over the weekend and will likely run to the next debate.

Now, consider these comments by Joe Biden today as reported over at NBC FirstRead:

“All of the things they said about Barack Obama in the TV, on the TV, at their rallies, and now on YouTube … John McCain could not bring himself to look Barack Obama in the eye and say the same things to him,” Biden said this morning. “In my neighborhood, when you’ve got something to say to a guy, you look him in the eye and you say it to him.”

So, is Biden trying to bait McCain into raising the Ayers connection “To His Face”? Who thinks that is a good idea? It practically guarantees a huge audience for this issue — and maybe have it married in context to Obama’s past connections to The New Party and the Democrat Socialists of America Party.

A sharp exchange at the debate on this subject — in effect calling Obama a closet socialist working in close association with neo-communists on the far left wing of the Democrat party — would dominate the post-debate spinning, and can’t help but end up at the top of news coverage the following day.

The charge is simply too incendiary to get buried by more talking point comments on the economy, health care, jobs, etc. It would put Obama squarely on the spot in having to provide a substantive answer himself — which one would hope he is prepared to give having had months to figure out what it is he will say.

So much for the “Yeah, but what about the Keating Five” strategy of dealing with this.

  4. In Biden’s neighborhood, he would sit down and have a cup of coffee with the guy at a diner that closed over 15 years ago.

Talk about a slow-pitch peach over the plate just screaming HIT ME!

  7. “In my neighborhood, when you’ve got something to say to a guy, you look him in the eye and you say it to him.”

JD – That would be over a cup of coffee at Katies or in the plumbing aisle at Home Depot, where Joe claims he likes to hang out but phone calls show nobody recalls seeing him there.

  8. daleyrocks – He really is a lying crapweasel, isn’t he? The MSM has reeeeaaaaaally let him slide throughout this campaign.

    JD (f7900a)

  9. Ine problem with confronting Obama is that you can’t trust what he says.

Look at how many times he had to walk back his statement on Wright. He had to do the same thing on Rezko and Rezko’s contributions. Obama has a history of not telling the truth the first time out of the box so the question is whether there is enough time to pressure it out of him.

  19. “So, is Biden trying to bait McCain into raising the Ayers connection “To His Face”?”

    Senator Obama.

“Who thinks that is a good idea?”

Senator Obama. And I agree. And I’d go as far to say it’d be cowardly for McCain not to.

    Bring. It. On.

  20. If BHO had come clean about first contact, there would be no factual basis with which to bring the Ayers association up. But, since he’s been caught in a flat lie, even the drive-bys have to give it credence.

Stanley Kurtz deserves a freaking Pulitzer Prize.

    Ed (8d1569)

  21. This is Baracky’s new version of the story …

“The gentleman in question, Bill Ayers, is a college professor, teaches education at the University of Illinois,” he said. “That’s how i met him — working on a school reform project that was funded by an ambassador and very close friend of Ronald Reagan’s” along with “a bunch of conservative businessmen and civic leaders.”

“Ultimately, I ended up learning about the fact that he had engaged in this reprehensible act 40 years ago, but I was eight years old at the time and I assumed that he had been rehabilitated,” Obama said.

    JD (f7900a)

  22. It is quite obvious that Baracky and Axelrod have been aggressively lying up to this point. Funny how his new answer is so overtly political.

    JD (f7900a)

  23. Why would anyone “assume rehabilitation” ?

    JD (f7900a)

  24. Thank the Lord for Slow Joe’s stupidity. The more publicity this gets the better! Bring it on–McCain does have the spirit for a fight, somewhere within. Otherwise, he’d have never toughed it out after being at the bottom in the primaries. We just have to keep him fired up.

Due to his injuries, I don’t think FW is in any danger of being punched-out by the Senator.
But, I would not want to vouch for his safety if he made remarks like that within any proximity of Cyndi.
    That could be ugly!

    Another Drew (930ac9)

  26. Getting that answer out is the political equivalent of passing a kidney stone.

Ayers is a Stalinist/”c”ommunist terrorist pig — but Obama only met him because of Ronald Reagan’s good friend Walter Annenberg, and they never got together anywhere unless there were plenty of conservative businessmen and civic leaders around them.

After all, those guys were all so close to Ayers.

    WLS (26b1e5)

  27. AD – The words Cyndi and ugly should never be used so closely together. Mother Nature has treated her well. Plus, I think she gives a better speech than the Senator.

    JD (f7900a)

  28. Getting that answer out is the political equivalent of passing a kidney stone.

Yet it is still incomplete, and quite dishonest.

    JD (f7900a)

  29. “…but I was eight years old at the time …”

Is he saying that he was only eight years old when he learned of Ayers activities?
Shows his limitations without a ‘Prompter.
It could have sounded better with a bunch of “ums”.
He still won’t come clean about when he learned and how he learned about the activities of Ayers/Dorhn, and why it has taken so long to disassociate himself from these radical terrorists – which he has still to do.

    Another Drew (930ac9)

  30. Comment by JD — 10/9/2008 @ 6:24 pm

I agree JD. Cyndi McCain will be one of our more attractive First Ladies.

Ugly is what FW’s face will be after she gets through with him. Hope she wears gloves, wouldn’t want her to break a nail, or scrape a knuckle.

    Another Drew (930ac9)

  31. As much as the rabid right might like McCain to go after Obama’s associations (Wright, Ayers, etc., etc.), doing so would be a waste of time, money and effort…. at least if winning votes is McCain’s objective.

If people want a product enough, they don’t care about who is selling it them. And with Obama long ago having locked up the prime real estate on the ‘Change’ that voters so desperately want, voters care far less (if they care at all) about who he palled around with 15 years ago than whether he can deliver the ‘Change’ they so desperately want.

You’d think conservatives would have learned this lesson with Clinton, when the country cared less about Clinton having screwed around with Lewinsky because the country cared more that we kept what what Clinton was selling… but who said we’re particularly smart?

    stevesturm (3b7833)

  32. The gentleman in question, Bill Ayers, is a college professor, teaches education at the University of Illinois,” he said.

So, Baracky, the Hahvad educated intellectual giant did not know who Bill Ayers was when he met him? He did not know who Bill Ayers was when he went to his house to kick off his political career?

“That’s how i met him — working on a school reform project that was funded by an ambassador and very close friend of Ronald Reagan’s” along with “a bunch of conservative businessmen and civic leaders.”

How does the source of the funding in any way effect the fact of who Bill Ayers was?

“Ultimately, I ended up learning about the fact that he had engaged in this reprehensible act 40 years ago,

When? Precisely when? And when you did learn about the reprehensible acts (corrected that for you Baracky), what did you do?

but I was eight years old at the time

You were 8 when you learned about it, or 8 when he did it? Either way, what does your age at the time have anything to do with it? What did you do once you knew, in 1995, or thereafter?

and I assumed that he had been rehabilitated,” Obama said.

On what did you base this incredible assumption? Did you assume that he had stood trial, been convicated, and served time? In what other ways can one be rehabilitated?

    JD (f7900a)

  33. whether he can deliver the ‘Change’ they so desperately want.

Oh, he will deliver change alright. We can only hope that the changes are not the ones that his history and record suggest they will be.

    JD (f7900a)

  34. JD at #20-

I like that explanation. Especially if it can be documented it is also wrong. I posted elsewhere (x2, sorry) that Obama was on a panel talking about “community organizing post Alinsky” in 1989 with 2 others present that were also at the center of the CAC years later.

Ah, yes. Why hide something if there’s nothing to hide?

    MD in Philly (3d3f72)

  35. The Obama campaign loves the “when he was 8 …” line.

But Obama never answers the question of why when Obama was an adult, he associated with the man.

The reason is that the answer is that Ayers recruited Obama, who worked at a lawfirm with Ayers’ equally despicable wife, where Michelle also worked.

These four are long time, close associates. Obama is simply Ayers’ political protege.

    SPQR (26be8b)

  36. MD – That was the Panel at Sangamon State University, correct? I took a couple night classes there at one point in time. It is now University of Illinois Springfield.

    JD (f7900a)

  37. JD 32: and the more McCain focuses on irrelevant issues (such as Ayers), the longer Obama gets a free ride on the ‘Change’ issue. Unfortunately for McCain (and for us), McCain has seemed to focus his campaign on criticizing Obama’s past associations and comments, rather than the elements that comprise Obama’s change.

  38. The electorate is going to deserve what they ask for, steve.

  39. We were wondering when Flo – Joe would eventually blunder so badly that he’d leave his running mate leading with his chin. Now’s the time – watch McCain call him out on all of this crap, big – time. The problem with talking tough is when you make the mistake of realizing that your opponent will take you up on it.

    Dmac (cc81d9)

  40. Obama has managed to change only a single thing. His past.

    SPQR (26be8b)

  41. Dmac – Would that were true.

The problem is, I do not think McCain will do it, not to any real degree. The best we could hope for is for one of his passing zingers. I want one person, preferably McCain, to press him on this. Ask him questions, and follow up on them. In short, not let Baracky give a dishonest Baracky answer. I want him to know the timeline, the history, and ask him about it.

    JD (f7900a)

  42. McCain focuses on irrelevant issues (such as Ayers)

Actually, Steve, if the American people are concerned about fixing the economy, preventing them from placing a stealth socialist in charge is more relevant than anything else.

    Patricia (ee5c9d)

  46. JD – you’re right. The stealth comes from the media obscuring his past.

    Apogee (366e8b)

  47. I’m not so sure about that, JD – no doubt McCain’s handlers have relentlessly drilled into him not to appear “angry” because of the MSM’s spin on that personality trait. But there’s controlled anger and uncontrolled anger, and McCain can simply preface his questions and comments with Biden’s remark. “Your VP candidate said I should say these things to your face. Well, here I am, Senator – how about answering these questions, with no equivocation and no evasions, at long last?”

    Dmac (cc81d9)

  58. So, the trouble with saying it to his face is “which face”? The guy hasn’t held a single position. He comes out with utter tripe and the very next day claims he said some other tripe.

    Peter (963843)

  59. Stevesturm,

You’re whistling past the graveyard, pal. The Ayers deal is not “irrelevant”–it goes straight to the heart of Obama’s judgment, fitness for office, and core beliefs.

Try this on for size: Let’s say you had a friend whom you knew for a fact had tried to whack somebody and wasn’t a bit sorry he had tried to do it. In fact, he’d probably to try whack somebody again if the chance presented itself. Despite knowing this, you continued to associate with him for years. So what the hell would this say about you?

You still don’t, or won’t, get it: for a guy who thinks he’s the smartest, coolest dude in the room, Obama has, at the very least, been incredibly bone-headed about the folks with whom he’s rubbed elbows. Shucks, you’d think Barry Obama would have used all those research and critical thinking skills he supposedly learned in college to find out just a little more on Ayers.

Your Personal Savior is now rapidly hurtling toward the point where he’s got to give a straight-up answer about his associations with Ayers. Unfortunately for Mr. Barry, he’s in a no-win position. To wit:

    1. If he admits he knew more about Ayers that he’s let on, it’ll be clear to all that he’s been actively trying to cover up his past dealings with a self-admitted terrorist.

    2. If Obama continues to delay, deny, and stonewall, then he’ll just be digging himself into a deeper hole as more documentary evidence comes to light. And it will come to light.

In short, even if Obama wins the election, his tenure may well be nasty, brutish, and short as more skeletons start coming out of his custom-built, cedar-lined closet. “President Biden?” Don’t laugh–it’s a bigger possibility than you think.

    Capisce, paisan?

  62. MD – Illini guy here, Champaign-Urbana, not the UIC where Ayers is teaching. Fuckers.

    JD (f7900a)

  63. MarkJ, the Ayers thing does more than just rebut Obama’s sloganeering on judgment, fitness for office or even core beliefs.

It shows what a complete and absolute fraud Obama is. The only things Obama has “changed” is Obama’s past and everyone of his friends. Obama’s entire campaign is that of erasing Obama’s entire past career as a socialist, the protege of a Weather Underground terrorist.

    SPQR (26be8b)

  64. Other than his wife and children, almost everyone in Baracky’s past has been thrown under the back of the bus.

    JD (f7900a)

  65. I don’t have much to say, daley rocks. I’m watching the credit markets seize up and the Asian markets tank, but what I’m really concerned about is 1960s domestic terrorist. The DOW has plunged 1400 this week and is ready to go into free fall tomorrow, destroying the retirement accounts of many boomers. But damn if I can’t get over this Bill Ayers guy!

    Priorities!

    PC (b4b303)

  66. Biden is right. John S. McCain is a coward! What has McCain done that shown his bravery?! I can tell you what Obama did. He took a job as a community organizer. You don’t get much braver or more masculine then that!

    Roy Mustang (f6c58b)

  67. 1. If he admits he knew more about Ayers that he’s let on, it’ll be clear to all that he’s been actively trying to cover up his past dealings with a self-admitted terrorist.

No kidding. Obama was a Columbia student in New York when Ayer’s Weathermen killed those New York police officers. It was all over the news. Of course, Obama knew what Ayers was.

    Roy Mustang (f6c58b)

  68. Roy, it is mind boggling how stupid Biden is, just how stupid the things that come out of his mouth are, but the news media act like it is Palin who is unprepared.

    SPQR (26be8b)

  69. PC – Well, maybe you and Barack can turn things around. You acolytes keep claiming he’s a lightworker and all.

  70. The words Cyndi and ugly should never be used so closely together.

Why not? Let’s see, she had an “ugly” drug habit, slamming back a boatload of narcotics a day to stay high. It was kinda “ugly” of her to falsify prescriptions in order to get those drugs. It was DEFINITELY ugly of her to steal those drugs from her own medical charity that was supposed to be providing emergency medical services to people in need. And I think it was at least a tad “ugly” of her to start dating and then steal away a married man 20 years her senior when that man’s wife had suffered a serious accident and waited 5 years for her husband while he was in a POW camp (she was what is known as the “other woman”)

Mother Nature has treated her well.

“Mother Nature” ?? Is that what you conservatives call botox and plastic surgery these days??

    I hate republicans (6e3bec)

  71. I was hoping McCain would suspend his campaign again and go do something mavericky so he could clean up this mess. Buying up loans at face value is certainly a mavericky idea (and a wee bit socialist…), but maybe he could do something even more mavericky.

    PC (b4b303)

  72. I hate republicans

Well, at least he’s honest about it.

    Jim Treacher (592cb4)

  73. ok, let me get this straight guys, the “Ayers connection” question goes to the heart of Obama’s character, right? You know, what “kind of a guy” would hang out with a guy like Ayers? Ok, we are talking about character.

So answer me this: what “kind of a guy” repeatedly cheats on, and then dumps his crippled (nearly) wife who waited patiently and faithfully for him for several years while he was in ‘Nam?? What kind of a guy dumps that wife because she isn’t so physically attractive anymore, and because he’s spotted a younger, prettier, and LOT RICHER version of that wife???

Again, let’s repeat this once more: what kind of a man dumps his wonderful, faithful wife after she has waited for him, and after she has had a serious accident all so he can bang a prettier, younger girl and so he can financially secure his future ambitions??? A very shallow, ugly man of little character, that’s who. And that is YOUR man, John McCain.

    I hate republicans (6e3bec)

So judgmental, asshat. I thought you were supposed to be the tolerant ones, the Leftist that are intolerant of intolerance. Fans of rehabilitation. So, you can assume rehabilitation for murder, but not a personal addiction?

And I think it was at least a tad “ugly” of her to start dating and then steal away a married man 20 years her senior

    Agreed

when that man’s wife had suffered a serious accident and waited 5 years for her husband while he was in a POW camp (she was what is known as the “other woman”)

Had you stopped where you were previously, I would have agreed with you. However, being the mendoucheous self-lefteous asshat that you are, you just had to go and lie.

    JD (f7900a)

  75. “MarkJ, the Ayers thing does more than just rebut Obama’s sloganeering on judgment, fitness for office or even core beliefs.”

Since Obama can’t run on experience or achievements he has to run on the things SPQR pointed out, plus the “Hope and Change” slogan. His list of slimy past associates, Ayers, Dohrn, Wright, Pfleger, Meeks, Daley, Axelrod, Khalidi, Mansour, Rezko, Talbott, ACORN, New Party, and others I am sure leaving out call into serious question his judgement and fitness for office. He would not be able to get an FBI security clearance if he was not an elected official with the types of friends he has in his background and the Democrats want to make him President. His associations do, however, explain his willingness to sit down with the worlds despots and dictators without preconditions. He’s been friendly with people holding similar views his whole fucking life!

The Hope and Change mantra is also a bunch of BS. Accepting his platform is to believe he will alter his past behavior by 180 degrees once he is elected. Given his rabid partisanship, thin skin, big ears, ego and pride, I see about zero chance of that happening. He has basically no history of bipartisanship on any measure where controversy was involved, he avoids spending any political capital on controversy because it paralyzes him, he has no history of reform. He will tax and spend like any big government liberal.

    daleyrocks (d9ec17)

  76. ok, let me get this straight guys, the “Ayers connection” question goes to the heart of Obama’s character, right? You know, what “kind of a guy” would hang out with a guy like Ayers? Ok, we are talking about character.

How many people that have made and planted bombs, that killed people and destroyed property, and bragged about it, are associated to you? Would you hang out with a murderer? What is a reasonable standard that you would apply?

So answer me this: what “kind of a guy” repeatedly cheats on, and then dumps his crippled (nearly) wife who waited patiently and faithfully for him for several years while he was in ‘Nam??

You are a mendoucheous asshat. Go ask his ex-wife about this time period in both of their lives. Frankly, I do not know why I bother responding, as you are an aggressive liar. But both McCain and his ex agree that they were both broken people at that time in their lives, and neither was going to heal while they were together.

What kind of a guy dumps that wife because she isn’t so physically attractive anymore, and because he’s spotted a younger, prettier, and LOT RICHER version of that wife???

    See above, liar.

Repeating lies and distortions does not make them true. It is a good and effective tactic that the Left uses, but no matter how many times you tell a lie, it does not magically become true.

  77. Jeez, do we have to deal with this crap, from a new crapper, again????????????????

Cindy drug stuff isn’t new either.

    Imagine debate night scenario 1.
    McCain doesn’t mention Ayers.
Obama campaign afterwards: You see, McCain knows it’s not really true/relevant, so you can ignore the subject from now on.
    Or debate night scenario 2.
    McCain does mention Ayers.
Obama’s reponse: “John, I’m disappointed in you, and so are a lot of other Americans. The stock market has dropped almost fifty percent* in the last year. Americans are afraid that the banks they’ve dealt with are going to go under, and that their retirement savings won’t be there when they will need them. General Motors is almost a penny stock. Foreclosures keep happening, throwing even innocent renters on the streets. And instead of addressing those problems with imaginative solutions, your campaign can only repeat meaningless charges about the past. Just how out of touch are you, John?”

Either way, Obama comes out looking good without even coming close to answering the questions.
*Let’s hope by next Wednesday it’s not more than fifty percent.

  100. kishnevi wrote: Or debate night scenario 2. McCain does mention Ayers. Obama’s reponse: “John, I’m disappointed in you, blah blah blah blah blah…”

I’m certain BO had an answer ready if McCain brought it up. He’s knows it’s the biggest land mine between him and the White House. That’s why Axholerod and company had a 12-minute video distorting McCain’s involvement in the Keating scandal ready for release when Ayers/Dohrn/ACORN was finally brought up.

Hillary could only pound away so much on Obama re Ayers because Bill Clinton commuted the sentences of Dohrn’s co-conspirators and flat-out pardoned Puerto Rican terrorists while Hill was campaigning for the New York Senate seat. She had little moral high ground.

OTOH, McCain shouldn’t be intimidated. He’s written more books about himself and his life than Obama (there’s more to write about), and he’s already gone on record about the most damaging dirt on himself: Being broken by the Viet Cong; abandoning his wife; getting involved with Keating, etc.

If Obama should try that “I wanna talk about the issues important to the people” schtuff, McCain should say the following:

“I think this IS important to the American people. Earlier this year, after I gained enough electoral votes to be the Republican nominee, the New York Times published an article on its front page suggesting I was corrupt and that I cheated on my wife. I knew that neither charge was true, and I’m pretty sure they didn’t think it was true either. I could have just said, “This doesn’t really matter,” But I thought the American people deserved to know the truth.

So I held a press conference with my wife Cindy beside me, told the whole truth, and let them ask any question they wanted about those false allegations. I stood in front of reporters and flashing cameras until they didn’t have any more questions, and that was it. Eventually, the Times admitted that the story didn’t fit their journalistic standards!

“Now, on the other hand, Senator, your answers about your relationship with Mr. Ayers and your knowledge of his terrorist past and your activities with ACORN have evolved as more information is uncovered by other people. Your first statement was that he was just someone you knew from your neighborhood when you knew good and well there was much, much more to it than that. People respect your intelligence too much to believe that you had no idea you were allying yourself with an unrepentant terrorist. And I think before they trust you with the future of our country, the American people want to know the honest truth. Maybe the media doesn’t hear them demanding answers to those questions, I can tell you for a certainty that Governor Palin and I hear those demands every day. I think they deserve to have those answers. So once you’ve answered those questions completely and honestly, they will have all the information necessary to make a fully informed choice on Election Day. If they decide afterward they can trust your judgment, then fine, you’ll be the President-Elect in November.

If Obama should use that “Say it to my face” remark again, McCain should laugh it off and say, “This isn’t the WWE. Come on!”

Next thing you know, some troll on here will post a video of Mccain getting a speeding ticket. It’s not a big deal if normal good people do it too, and normal good people get divorces every day. Normal good people would NEVER be friend with Rev. Wright, Ayers, or Ayers’s sickening wife.

  114. You guys crack me up. So let me get this straight: because McCain has written about his marriage and his regrets (what else would he say about it??) over being a serially cheater and dumping his injured wife for a younger, prettier, richer blond, and because he had suffered in the war, it’s all okay??? And I love how some of you say that because lots of people cheat, and lots of people’s marriages fail, and because of lots of military marriages fail, everything McCain did was okey dokey by you. Lots of people do lots of bad things, it doesn’t make it honorable. And oh yeah, your last defense: this is old news. WHAT??! So only if it is a new story is it okay to criticize someone’s character over that event? That makes a lot of sense. Barack Obama using drugs as a youth is an “old story” yet it didn’t stop McCain’s co-chair yesterday from bringing it up and trying to suggest Obama was a drug dealer on the street as a kid, now did it?

And to JD who insisted I was a “liar” about what I said about McCain, please elaborate. What was a lie? Ok, I don’t know McCain’s exact motivations for cheating on and dumping his wife, but either do you, so my explanation (his first wife was getting older and was disfigured and thus not as pretty anymore, and his new wife younger, prettier, and richer) is as plausible as any, and obviously the most likely explanation. Like some of you have suggested, there is LOTS of evidence in society to go on to figure out why men cheat and leave their wives for younger ones, and its not usually an “honorable” explanation, now is it?

Lastly, all of you who seem to sympathize with McCain over this and say ‘yeah, but he had suffered in the war, and his marriage was broken, and these things happen to suffering men’, BULLSHIT. He re-married 5 weeks after his divorce and seemed to get over all his demons real quick once he was married to a trophy wife/gold mine. If he had spent many years lonely after his divorce, and then married another woman his age and of similar finances to his first wife, then one might conclude: the first marriage just stopped working, and McCain simply found a new soulmate after years of soul-searching. But instead what we have is a playboy (both before the war and after) finding a hot, new, super-rich much improved model of a wife and trading in his old, not-so-pretty-anymore version for her. Now THAT is some real character right there.

(and not a one of you defended Bill Clinton for his infidelities, and in fact supported impeaching him for it, and not of you supported John Edwards for his infidelities, now did you?? Yet you wipe away McCain’s character flaw and blab on and on about any every possible chink in Obama’s character. Republican double standardism at its best.)

  115. I think they want this fight, because it opens up a can of worms for McCain and Palin.

McCain was deeply mired in “guilt by association” with the Iran-Contra death squads and the Keating 5 scandal in ways that make the Obama-Ayers relationship look like distant pen pals.

Palin spent over a decade literally in bed with an Alaskan secessionist. She legitimized the Alaskan Independence Party with a video address calling them “important.” This is a party whose founding father once said “The fires of hell are arctic glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government.”

    How patriotic does that look?

    RC (4f6cd4)

  116. Capt. McCain, I won’t call him senator since all of this happened before his political career, and his wife at the time, reached an amicable seperation and divorce that they have both spoken about, and he has written about, in the intervening years.

Your attack is mean-spirited, bigoted, and un-informed, and had come to be expected by someone from the moon-bat wing of the political spectrum.

And why would anyone want to defend Bubba re his escapades? Bubba is a randy teen-ager in an adults body – always was, and always will be. His lack of character was noted, and ignored, and the country wore a black-mark due to it.

Yeah, all of those phantom skeletons have been completely ignored by the media, which sent teams of reporters to fan out across the country, sticking their microphones into toilet stalls in Anchorage to ask unsuspecting bystanders if they thought Trig was really Palin’s. Then we had the courageous fact – checkers at the NYT assiduously research their fake McCain romance with the lobbyist, and so many more wonderful reporting that we just can’t get into them all…

    Dmac (cc81d9)

  120. RC wrote: I think they want this fight, because it opens up a can of worms for McCain and Palin.

Nonsense. As I wrote above, McCain told on himself in his memoirs many years ago. Palin is so clean Obama’s PR buddies recycled debunked lies on through YouTube hoping something will stick. You won’t tell the whole story of Troopergate Tasergate because the truth makes Palin either sympathetic or too strong (or do you have no problem with a wife-beating, drunk-driving, 10-year-old Tasering punk with a badge keeping his job?) Oh, but she has a (used) tanning bed in her home! She got an inappropriate free facial! A FACIAL, man! This is serious business!

Obama is the dream every MSM reporter wants to believe is true, and they don’t want to pinch themselves. So they have backed off the important questions about his candor regarding his radical past. His State Senate archives? “They could have been thrown out.” Michelle’s Princeton thesis? Originally embargoed until the day AFTER the November election despite its clear permission for republication. Records of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, his most extensive managerial experience? Access promised to Stanley Kurtz, then denied for almost a week. Why?

If Barry wants to focus on the “real” issues, he should just answer the maddog questions. And until he does, nobody should stop asking.
